The License Lab is an independent resource for producers, editors and music supervisors to access a constant stream of production music for commercial licensing. To set this digital experience apart from other music production companies, we concepted and designed the site to feel and operate like a modern machine. The License Lab team doesn't just want to talk about or abstractly market their music; they want users to be able to listen to and play with tracks, delivering high-quality music, from catalog selections to custom tracks.
To help people find License Lab tracks, we built a search utility that uses predictive text and pre-cached common returns for lightning fast and accurate results. For those looking for in-depth filtering, we created a system with which users can literally tune into the right music qualities via five functional HTML5 knobs, allowing adjustments to discover tracks based on genetics, mood, energy, speed and tone. Users can further filter results for genre, instrument, or keyword to yield even more specific results. Ultimately, this fun and functional UI helps users quickly find what they need across all browsers, tablets and mobile devices.
